On 7 September 2025, the students of Stella Maris Convent Secondary School, Narayanpur achieved remarkable success in the Debate Competition organized by the Rotary Club Sultanpur.
The topic of the competition was “Compulsory Regional Language: A Threat to the Constitution.”
Manvi Srivastava (Class 11-A) represented the Pro position, while Kritika Tripathi (Class 10-C) spoke Against the motion. With their powerful and articulate presentations, both students secured First Position, bringing great pride to the school.
The 47th Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Memorial Debate Competition was held on Sunday at a local hotel and inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. Ramji Tripathi, former Head of the Hindi Department, University of Mumbai. Students from various schools presented well-reasoned arguments on how the compulsory use of regional languages could impact constitutional equality and national unity.
With her outstanding performance in the Against category, Kritika Tripathi clinched the First Prize and lifted the trophy, while Manvi Srivastava was also awarded the First Prize for her commendable presentation in the Pro category.
